The Vanguard features a formidable 4.92-inch blade crafted from high-performance D2 tool steel, hardened to 59-61 HRC for an optimal balance of toughness and exceptional edge retention. The versatile spear point design offers excellent piercing capability, while the durable, non-reflective black stonewash finish provides added corrosion resistance and hides the signs of hard use. This is a blade built to perform under pressure.

The scales are made from a high-impact, glass-reinforced nylon (FRN) in a tactical Coyote Tan color. The knife is made of good materials and is definitely worth the money. However, the handle material could be improved, and the lanyard seems like an afterthought. Overall, it's good, but there's room for improvement.
